Overview

Welcome to Kenya

Kenya is where the modern safari began. Its savannahs, lakes and mountains are home to lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and rhino, and every year the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra crosses the Mara River into the Maasai Mara between roughly July and October.

Beyond the parks, Kenya has a long Indian Ocean coastline of white beaches and coral reefs at Diani and Watamu, and a lively capital in Nairobi. It is easy to combine a few days on safari with a few days on the beach.
